Actually, suspended platform(swing stage scaffold) is a common suspended access equipment which is widely used in high building window cleaning, high-rise building facade maintenance, painting, decorating, curtain wall installation, etc.

According to OSHA, the suspended platform(swing stage) is the almost the common type of suspended scaffold. The suspended platform is hung by steel wire ropes, and driven by two electric hoists.

A complete suspension platform system consists of Electric Control Box, Electric Hoist, Electric Cable, Safety Lock, Safety rope, Steel Wire Rope, Working Platform, and suspension mechanism(Upper Column, Front Beam, Middle Beam, Rear Beam, Front Support, Rear Support, Balance Weight). And sometimes, a parapet clamp will be used as a suspension mechanism. Their unique system is useful for a variety of applications and they come in a variety of models.

  • Users must undergo a basket safety training course
  • Be sure to set up suspension devices correctly. Remember to use counter weights if they are needed to help support the scaffold.
  • Make sure that you know and how to attach ropes to the equipment you are working with.
  • Keep the suspended platform free of unused tools, materials and other debris.
  • Use PFAS and guardrails to protect works from falling, while on the job when work on a suspended scaffold. 
  • Gravity is always a concern, but if you follow the rules and safety precautions you can avoid letting it get you down.
